     Her married name was Bristow. They left Iowa in 1917 to homestead in Wyoming. When Bill was drafted and Kathryn was pregnant with the twin boys, they returned in 1918 to Iowa. In 1919 he got out of the army and they went back to Wyoming and the 640 acres of homestead where they stayed until 1935. Then they went to Washington and he worked at MeMib Island Prison.

     Elsie was born on 28 November 1894. She was the daughter of Hans Wagner and Emma Salina Stanton.
     Her married name was Hull. She was alive in 1949.

     Florence was born on 20 March 1896. She was the daughter of Hans Wagner and Emma Salina Stanton. Florence died on 19 August 1963.

     Claude was born on 28 May 1897. He was the son of Hans Wagner and Emma Salina Stanton. Claude died on 13 October 1967.

ONAWA, Iowa
Emma Lou Stanislav, 88, of Onawa crossed over on Thursday, July 10, 2014, at Pleasant View Care Center in Whiting, Iowa.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Root Funeral Home in Onawa, with the Rev. Roger Wagner officiating. Burial will be in Belvidere Cemetery, rural Turin, Iowa. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home. Condolences may be left online for the family at www.rootfuneralhomes.com.

Emma Louise (Wagner) Stanislav, lovingly known as "Emma Lou" or "LouLou" by her grandchildren, was born on Nov. 27, 1925, in Turin, Iowa, to John and Louise (Mortensen) Wagner. She grew up in rural Turin. She attended Hiawatha Country School, Moorhead Grammar School, and Onawa High School. She received her R.N. from St Joseph’s-Mercy School of Nursing in Sioux City.

Emma Lou married her husband, Leonard E. Stanislav, in 1947, celebrating 65 years. Making their home in Onawa, they were blessed with three children, Leon Edward, Eileen Louise, and Eva Laurie. She was a clinical nurse in Onawa (most of the years with Drs. Gaukel and Wolpert). She also took special duty cases and was on the State Care Board for Elmwood Nursing Home.

A leader and organizer in Boy and Girl Scouts and Camp Fire Girls, she ultimately received the prestigious BSA Silver Fawn Award. Passionate about genealogy, she enjoyed the camaraderie of the local chapter until her death. She was a member of the DAR and the Mayflower Society. She instilled a love of animals and nature, loved to laugh, loved adventure, and simply radiated when listening to her beloved Bluegrass music (missing only one National Old Time Music Festival over the past 27 years). She deeply cared for people and was devoted to her parents and siblings. A proud mother, grand/great-grandmother, and faithful wife.

She leaves to mourn her passing her son, Dr. Leon Edward Stanislav and his wife, their daughters, Alia Nunn (husband Jay, children, Aveleen and Colton), and Kristy Jo Dye (husband Josh), all of Clarksville, Tenn; daughter, Eileen Louise Stanislav of La Quinta, Calif., and her three children, EveAnne Lippold of La Quinta, Laura Berlinger of New Orleans, La., and Idrissa Kamara of New York; daughter, Eva Laurie (Stanislav) Powell and fiance, Neil DeBella of Santa Cruz, Calif; brother, Kermit Wagner and his wife, Catherine of Windsor, Vt; niece, Claire (Wagner) and husband, Greg Ashley of San Jose, Calif., and children, Lauren and Lucy; nephew, John Wagner and his wife, Bridgett and daughter, Cleo of Monterey, Calif; sister, Esther Kenyon of Hawaiian Gardens, Calif., and her two daughters, Christy Stanley of Hawaiian Gardens, and Karen and husband, Jason McCants of Long Beach, Calif., with their children, Melody and Jackson; many cousins, in-laws and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Louise Wagner; baby brother, John Andrew Wagner; brother, Kenneth E. Wagner; baby granddaughter, Amy Jean Stanislav; and her husband, Leonard.

She is an inspiration to her family and friends to help any life in need. She found God in her garden and modeled how to experience God hands-on through all He created.

Memorial contributions may be made in Emma Lou’s name and sent in care of Root Funeral Home, 906 Pearl St., Onawa, IA 51040. The family will designate various charities near to Emma Lou’s heart.
