     Gurdon Rogers , Sr. was born on 28 July 1760 at Monteville, CT. Jim Rogers, in email 26 Dec 2005, says this was the birthdate of Gurdon Rogers of "East Haddam," CT, who was a son of John and Sarah Borden Rogers and in actuality the Revolutionary War veteran. He died in 1839 and is buried at Deep River, CT. The Gurdon Rogers [son of Daniel] of Montville was actually born in 1765, making his year of birth at least 17 years behind that of his supposed sibling, Jabez Rogers, b. 1748. His mother, Sarah Williams Rogers, would have been approximately 47 years old at the time of his 1865 birth. I suspect that James Swift Rogers [author of the 1902 Rogers genealogy] missed a generation and that there were in fact three successive Gurdon Rogers' of Montville: 1st Gurdon b 1739, 2nd b 1765, and 3rd b 1798.
