They had issue.¹ Joseph Babock died in February 1742 at Westerly, Washington Co., RI.¹

     Mary Gardiner was born on 25 July 1728 at South Kingston, Kings, RI.. She was the daughter of Henry Gardiner and Abigail Eldred. Mary Gardiner married Col. Joseph Stanton, son of Joseph Stanton and Esther Gallup, in 1752.¹

      Esther Hazard was also known as Sarah The Stanton book lists her as Esther Stanton who married Babcock. In my copy of the book Esther has been crossed out and Sarah written below.¹ As of 1757,her married name was Esther Babcock.

     Maj. James Babcock was the son of Capt. James Babcock and Content Maxson. Maj. James Babcock married Esther Hazard, daughter of Robert Hazard and Esther Stanton, in 1757. She was of Charlestown, RI.¹ Maj. James Babcock married Joanna McDowell, daughter of James McDowell and Lucy Stanton, on 22 August 1769 at 22 Aug 1769.

Other sources also list: Ichabod, Lucy, Joseph, Mary Lodowick, Augustus, John, Hannah, Esther, and Anstice. Further research and citations are needed.¹ Esther Stanton died on 17 November 1813 at Westerly, Washington Co, RI.²
