I believe this refers to a researcher of the Witter family. Also, the Stanton book indicates in one instance the marriage was in 1824 and in another 1829. She was of Plainfield, CT. James Stanton Treat married Lydia MottWitter, daughter of AmosWitter, on 19 November 1839. James Stanton Treat died on 17 April 1855. He had large cotton mills in Voluntown, Conn.
