George William Stanton

George was born at Turin, Monona Co., IA, on 26 December 1890. He was the son of Lawson Jay Stanton and Melissa (Lizzie) Ann Van Hoesen. He married Cecile Evans on 12 February 1913. No issue.. George died on 14 May 1958 Burgers Disease at Tilden, NE. Burgers Disease. His body was interred at Oakdale, Antelope Co., NE.
He resided at Oakdale, NE, in 1952. In 1911 he was in Oakdale, Nebraska engaged in carpentry. In 1913, after his marriage, the family lived on a farm near Oakdale for a number of years. In 1930 he was employed by the Nebraska State Highway Patrol for about ten years. 1945-48 he was employed in Norfolk, 1948-58 in Oakdale. In September of 1957 he and his wife went to Florida for his health. They returned to Nebraska in May 1958 and he was hospitalized in Tilden May 7th.
He served as a County Supervisor for one term, a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge, was active in the Boy Scouts, a member of the Methodist Church and served it as Teasurer and member of the Board of Trustees.
