Of Stretton, England. A descendant of Eyryk of Great Stretton and Houghton County, a lineal descendant of Eric the Forester and of the period of Henry III (1216-1272).
Eric the Forester, one of the descendants of the Danish chief Ericke, lived in Leicestershire and fought against the Normans. He was admired for his efforts from William the Conqueror. He was given special office and allowed to retire to his house in Leicestershire.
Ericke, the Danish Chief, invaded Britain during the reign of Alfred. He lost the campaign and was forced to live in East Anglia . He was known as Ericke, King of those Danes who hold the country of East Anglia. He tried to unit the Danes again against the English, was defated, and killed by his own subjects.

Joseph C. Bonner was born on 13 July 1855 at Chillicothe, Ross County, OH.. He was the son of James Taylor Bonner and Jane (?). He married Nellie Turney Bell at Ross County, OH, on 4 November 1878. The marriage record lists her as Nellie L. Bell..
Joseph was listed in a directory in 1876. From the "History of the Republican Party in Ohio," edited by Joseph P. Smith and Memoirs of its Representative Supporters, Vol II, 1898, Chicago, The Lewis Publishing Company - Col. Joseph C. Bonner graduated at the Chillicothe Academy. He located in Toledo and in 1882 organized the Ames-Bonner Manufacturing Company [brushes] and served as its President. For two years was a member of the central committee of Toledo and went on to serve the State party. In 1838 he was an alternate to the Republican national convention and supoorted the nomination of John Sherman. He was active in the campaign of Harrison. In 1892 he organized the Ohio State Naval Reserve Association and served as its president. This association worked for the legislative enactment the establishment of the Ohio Naval Reserve Militia and the First Battalion of Ohio Naval Reserve Militia was formed July 1896 in Toledo. In 1895 he was chairman of the Republican state central committee and opened the Republican state convention. He served in 1896 as a member of the presidential electroal college. He organized the campaign for McKinley in Ohio. He was member of the Society of the Sons of the Revolution and of the war of 1812, an honorary member of the Press Club Association of Toledo, a member of the Westminster Presbyterian church and a former secretary of its board of trustees.

Daniel's occupation: third grade teacher at Polk Co., NE, on 1 December 1876.1 He resided at Montville, Geauga Co., OH, on 18 July 1879.2 He homesteaded southeast of Osceola, Nebraska about 1872. In a letter 28 Jul 1881 from Sadie and Grant Cory to Ida Mae, it says he "sold his interest in the store". No other details.
