The Dann source says b. in Loonenburg, Greene Co., NY..1 He was the son of Jeramiah Van Hoesen and Christina Van Denburgh. He married Rachel Jemina (J. Minae) Van Hoesen on 1 January 1837.1 Richard died on 2 July 1894 He died at the home of his son-in-law Myron A. Eddy. at home of Myron A. Eddy at Hornby Forks, NY. He died at the home of his son-in-law Myron A. Eddy..1 His body was interred at Hornby Forks, NY, at Valley View Cemetery. Dann source says Central Valley Cemetery..1
Richard purchased his Hornby property 11 October 1865. He was a blacksmith, a very large man. When he quit the business he sold his anvil to his son-inl-law Charles R. Adam and it is now (1959) mounted in the backyard of Charles Robert Stanton of Hornby. Richard also was the Justice of the Peace in Hornby. He was a popular man, social and intelligent, highly respected as a citizen. He also was a blacksmith in Union, Pennsylvania.
