Robert Starkweather

Robert Starkweather was born at Wales, Isle of Man, Scotland..1 He married Jenet Roberts, daughter of John Roberts.1
Robert Starkweather lived in 1640 at Roxbury, MA. Tradition says he also owned land in Boston a part of what was known in the 1890s as "Cornhill". The family lived in Roxbury and all his children were born there. He disposed of the Boston and Roxbury.1 Carlton Lee Starkweather's history of the Starkweathers recounts in more detail the early history of Robert in the Roxbury church, town records, eventual removal to Ipswich and the probate of his estate. Also of note is Carlton's statement regarding Robert's issue. He lists Elizabeth, Lydia, John, and Deborah and then says "that there were four other children, and perhaps more, according to tradition is stated in Vol IV of Savage's 'Genealogical Dictionary'; we do not know on what authority."1

Volkie Jurrianse Van Northstrand
F, d. after
Volkie was born at Nordstrand, Denmark. According to Karl Quosig ([email protected]) Nordstrand or Nordstrant was a large island off the coast. In 1634 a terrific gale hit the island, causing the sea to break down the island. Originally it was quite large but after this catastrophe only the high ground remained.
After the destruction many of the survivors were taken to the mainland for refuge. Volkje was probably taken to the town of Husum which was directly east ofthe island. It is believed that she lost both of her parents in this storm. She had one sister, Annetje Juriaens, who was the wife of Andries Herbertsen Constapel. She witnessed Volkje's marriage to Jan Fransse in Holland.. She was the daughter of Jurrian Van Northstrand. She married Jan Fransse Van Hoesen at Nieuwe Kerk, Amsterdam, Holland, on 15 May 1639. Dutch Reformed Church.1 She married Gerritt Visbeech after 1667. Volkie died after .
As of 15 May 1639,her married name was Van Hoesen. As of after 1667,her married name was Visbeech.
