Thompson McDaniel married Lucinda "Lucy" Reinschmidt, daughter of John Rinesmith and Susan (?), on 2 January 1854. Judy McElderry cites the marriage/death card file at Lehighton County Historical Society in Allen Pa. of the Friedens Bote newspaper in Lehighton.¹
     J. Thompson McDaniel was mlt active duty on 6 July 1861; He served as a private in the 28th Regiment, Company E, Pennsylvania. This company was mustered into service 6 July 1861; re-enlisted 28 Dec 1863 and served to the end of the war.² He ran the "Four Mile House", a hotel in Mahoning Township, confirmed by an 1875 township map with names appearing at houses and businesses in the area shown.² He was census 1880 - 1920 in 1880 at Mahoning Township.² An 1900 census of Mahoning Township listed J. Thompson McDaniel. M; He is listed as Thompson McDaniel.
