Pennzoil Promotes Chesebro' to President and COO;
Pennzoil Company (Houston, Texas) has promoted Stephen D.
Chesebro' to president and chief operating officer, effective
immediately. Chesebro' will also join the company's board of
directors in early 1998.
Chesebro' will be responsible for implementing Pennzoil's
strategic plans for each operating segment including oil and
gas, motor oil and refined products and franchise operations.
He will continue to report to James L. Pate, Pennzoil's
chairman and chief executive officer.
Chesebro' joined Pennzoil in February 1997 as executive vice
president of Pennzoil Company and president of Pennzoil
Exploration and Production Company. Prior to joining Pennzoil,
he served as chairman and CEO of Tenneco Energy.
