[1542] Of Stretton, England. A descendant of Eyryk of Great Stretton
and Houghton County, a lineal descendant of Eric the Forester
and of the period of Henry III (1216-1272).

Eric the Forester, one of the descendants of the Danish chief
Ericke, lived in Leicestershire and fought against the Normans.
He was admired for his efforts from William the Conqueror. He
was given special office and allowed to retire to his house in
Leicestershire.

Ericke, the Danish Chief, invaded Britain during the reign of
Alfred. He lost the campaign and was forced to live in East
Anglia . He was known as Ericke, King of those Danes who hold
the country of East Anglia. He tried to unit the Danes again
against the English, was defated, and killed by his own
subjects.
