He was the youngest of three sons. His nieces and nephews indicated he was 2-3 years younger than his brother George. As a young man he fell in love with a woman who married another man. Heartbroken, he went drinking one evening with his friends and woke up the next morning married. He did not love the woman and after one day left her and Lesvos, moving to Athens. He never divorced the woman and remained in Athens working as a barber. During World War II he died of starvation. His wife in Mytilene never remarried and died still in love with her "one-day" husband. |
