[1819] He was admitted as a member of Gray's Inn in 1597.

In March 1609/10 he petitioned Parliament in regard to his
father's will. He proposed to pay all his father's debts and
have transferred to him the official positions of his father
under King James. We do not know the outcome.

In 1617 he was chosen Secretary of the Virginia Company in
London.

He was sent to Jamestown as Secretary of the Virginia Colony 13
June 1621.

[1820] He died soon after the massacre of spring 1622. By the census
of 1624 his wife had been a widow more than a year.

[1800] If this is the descendant of Nicholas, he was born 8 Apr 1639
in Charlestown, Massachusetts. If he is not, then he was born
1630 in Scotland and was exiled to the Massachusetts Bay Colony
as a prisoner of war having been a soldier in the Covenanter
Army of Scotland. He landed in Ipswich in 1651.

On 13 Sep 1666 he signed a loyalist petition. He served as a
Major of the Essex Regiment and a member of the Ancient and
Honorable Artillery Co. in 1672.

[1801] This ancestry of Daniel Davison is disputed. In "The Davisson /
Davidson Family from Immigrant to Present" by Mary L. Narehood,
1972, private printing, copy in the Sutro Library, San
Francisco, California., Ms. Narehood states that Daniel's
ancestry is not from Nicholas, that his ancestry is not clear.
In my opinion her case is not conclusive. Another early
compiler (1920s) of this family's genealogy, Mr. A. H. Davison,
shares some of her conclusions but in his published works
continued to show Nicholas as Daniel's father. Until further
evidence can be accumulated on either side, this ancestry is
listed as a "possibility" only.

A. H. Davison, in a letter to Ida Mae (Davison) Bonner in 1923
wrote that Daniel's birthdate was 1630. He did not cite his
source.

[1804] His will is dated 5 December 1693.
