[8858] Bonnie Fairbank indicates two entries for him In the 1860
Federal census: in Yellowhead, Kankakee County, IL. and in
Nemaha Co., NE. He served in Company C, 5th Iowa Calvary in the
Civil War as a private. In the 1870 Federal census he is listed
in Bethany, Harrison County, MO. By 1883 he was in Como,
Colorado and mentioned in an article in the "Fairplay Flume" of
15 Feb. 1883: "Mr. Davis Hallock, a dairy ranchman, well known
at Como, celebrated his fiftieth birthday on Tuesday last. A
dinner part for 10 to fifteen of the neighbors served to make
the day a pleasant one and one long to be remembered".
[8860] Bonnie Fairbanks cites the Certificate of Death issued by the
State of Colorado #SL01094025 on April 29, 1999., cause of
death Bright's disease. She also cites his obituary that
appeared in the "Fairplay Flume" dated May 1901: "Mr. Davis
Hallock, an old citizen of Park county, whose home was in Como,
died on last Friday after a long illness. The deceased was 71
years of age and leaves a wife and seven children. The underal
was conducted by Rev. Shively." [Bonnie Fairbanks notes there
were eight children not seven.]

[8925] Bonnie Fairbank: "According to the 1910 Census, George was 40
and living with his mother, Sarah Jane. It also states that he
was born in MO. This information conflicts with information
found previously for George. The Como Cemetery listing says
George is burind there, although I didn't find his grave. It
lists his birth as 1881. The 1910 Census says he is 40 years
old, which would make his year of birthdaya closer to 1870."

[8930] "Fairplay Fume" article dated 9 September 1958 - "Guy O.
Hallock Buried Tuesday (Headline). One of the really old time
residents of Como, Guy H. Hallock passed away unexpectedly
Friday morning while visiting friends in Leadville. Guy was
born in Como June 23, 1881, and made his home there throughout
his life. He was a retired employee of the Denver and South
Park Railroad and was well known throughout the Park area. He
leaves to mourn his passing a brother, Will, and niece, Mrs.
Ione Hesthall, of Buena Vista. Funeral services were held
Tuesday at the Stranahan Mortuary with Rev. E. P. Linnell in
charge. Internment was in the Como Cemetry."
[8932] The 1920 Lake County census has Guy H. Hallock age 38 and
Tillie (his wife) age 38.

[8906] Listed as Lizzie in "Echoes of Como" book on early residents.
Known in Montana as Hattie. Her granddaughter, Fran said
Harriet told the story of traveling to Salt Lake City when the
railroad lines were up and running. From there, Harriet, Will
Wolford, and three of their children took the train to Butte,
MT. Harriet said the train would have to stop and wait for the
buffalo to get off the tracks in roder to keep going.

[8948] Bonnie Fairbank cites this short notice that appeared in the
"Fairplay Flume" Jan. 16, 1947: "Holly Hallock, age 60, died at
the home of his brother Guy Hallock in Como, Thursday morning
from a heart attack." and then on January 23, 1947 appeared:
"The funeral of Mr. Holly C. Hallock of Como was held last
Sunday at the Humphrey Mortuary, Rev. J. N. Hillhouse
officiating. Two of the brothers, Mr. Will Hallock of Buena
Vista, and Mr. Guy Hallock of Como, were present together with
a large group of friends. The interment was in Como. The
deceased was 60 years old and was born in Buena Vista but spent
most of his life in South Park. The day was bitter cold with a
high wind, but the friends faced it all to show their respects
to Holly Hallock's memory. There were beautiful floral tributes
and the services and funeral all was certainly appreciated by
his brothers and friends. Bill Hallock was over from Buena
Vista to attend his brother's funeral."
