[968] He was a farmer and tavern-keeper. Moving to Penn. from Conn.,
Asa built a log cabin near the present village of Waymart,
Wayne Co. There they lived for about twenty-seven years. In
1812 they moved to Bethany, Penn.
[969] As they were returning from a visit to Conn. Col. Asa Stanton
was drowned while corssing the Delaware River at Cochecton.
