[10636] Family tradition is that Lina was born on the Ohio River while
Her Fatherwas looking for timber He could cut. Also, tradition
is that She came to Tennessee down the Ohio River on aflat
boat. Quite possibly, the flatboat of her first cousin,
NathanielWallace Fuller, son of Sarah Bliss Rogers and Husband
Enos Fuller. Thiswould have been between 1870 and 1879.
Obituary of Lina Caro Rogers Lina Caro Rogers, daughter of
James Monroe Rogers and Lena Clark Rogerswho migrated to
Tennessee from the state of Pennsylvania when she wasjust a
child, was born February 5, 1861. She departed this life June
28,1941. Age - 80 years - 4 months - and 23 days. She was
married to Rev.W. P. Banks April 7, 1879. To this union were
born nine children, six ofwhom survive -- Ethel M.Bass, J. Ivan
Banks, H. M. Banks, of Dowelltown,Charles C. Banks and Paul M.
Banks of Nashville, and Joseph Banks ofChicago, Ill. She has
eighteen living grandchildren and threegreat-grandchildren. She
professed faith in Christ when just a little girl and united
with theMethodist Episcopal Church. Her Holy Bible, which is
being used in herfuneral today was a great comfort and joy to
her in her last years. Shespent many hours reading its pages.
She was striken with paralysis about seven years ago and has
since beenconfined to her room. Although she often expressed a
desire to go on,she bore her suffering with a smile.
